 Milestone 9

Hours Spent: 16 hours

This week I spent a lot of it working on getting all the sound finished up. There was a lot of small sound effects that I found but had to edit to fit it to how we want it. Same with the music, I chopped it up a little bit more and tried to get it to be just how we wanted it. The dialogue was also quite a lot of work, I had to remove a lot of background noise from the VA which was difficult since some of it was people and that made it so that the denoise didn't just remove it automatically. We also wanted to test a version of a more "Godlike" sounding character, so some reverb and other tweaks to the audio. This took a while as I haven't done much sound editing in my time, and what I had done was pretty basic and I wanted it to sound just right. I also continued to optimize some models, and made a couple more versions of some different ones.

The biggest challenge this week was definitely doing the "Godlike" dialogue. It was a lot of work to really get it to sound good. There were so many settings that I didn't know what they did and not very much information online on how to do something like this. So I spent a lot of time figuring out what the settings do, and then changing it so that it sounded better. There were difficulties all the way up until the end, and we may not even use that version of the audio but it's good to have in case we decide to use it.

The biggest success this week was having everything working in VR. All the optimization managed to work so we got the VR version running without lag and that is a huge positive that gave us a good boost in morale to keep going and really get as much done as possible. We're really happy with where we are now, and I think the continuation of the path we're on will result in a really good final product.

The final different dialogue files split by color.
